If your organization is looking to increase your ticket sales for an upcoming event, you’re in luck! We are going to do a deep dive into five basic tricks to help increase your ticket sales. We understand that every event comes with its own set of challenges and that most organizations are running on a skeleton staff. The tips were about to share with you take little to no effort on your part and are easily integrated into your ticket strategy. With these five easy-to-implement tricks and tips you can expect to have a prosperous 2021-2022.

1. Hire Influencers to Promote Your Event

Hiring local influencers is something that is new to the marketing scene. Do not underestimate the power of social media influencers. Influencers that have a strong relationship with their community can help “influence” them to buy tickets to your event. Reach out and ask local influencers to talk to their communities about your event to help increase ticket sales and skyrocket exposure. In an article recently written by Forbes titled “Micro-influencers: When Smaller Is Better” they chat about the pros and cons of each influencer level. Forbes states “While many businesses assume that going bigger is better, that is not always the case. In particular, micro-influencers are often an underutilized tool that can separate brands from their competition.”

Pro Tip: Influencers typically cost $100 per every 1 thousand followers for posts, and $100 per every 1 thousand views for stories.

2. Discount Tickets to Beat a Plateau

Offering discounted tickets isn’t a newfound strategy to help your event sell more tickets. It’s important to set discounted tickets for a limited time so you do not see a huge influx of revenue on the back end. Sometimes when you are selling ticketing to an event you may see a plateau of sales. If so, you may want to consider offering discounts for a limited time to help skyrocket sales. A few proven strategies include:

  • Offer discounts for groups. For people who are buying 25+ tickets offer them 10% off.
  • Provide influencer referral codes to encourage them to invite their community via social media.
  • Give special discounts to groups that are related to your event and make the deal too good to refuse with early access, special VIP swag or early event entry.
  • Send out a “last call” email with slightly discounted prices right before your event with the Agile Ticketing Solutions’ CRM solutions.
  • When you could use a boost in attendance offer limited time discounts for specific times of day. For example, you could give 30% off to anyone who arrives before noon.

Pro Tip: Track your discount “spend” to make sure that you aren’t eating into your event profits.

3. Sell in advance online to shorten lines at the door

It may seem obvious, but with so much attention paid to selling tickets online, it’s easy to forget the potential for on-site sales. Selling at the door can be a great way to get to take your attendance from a solid crowd to a packed house It may seem obvious, but with so much attention paid to selling tickets online, it’s easy to forget the potential for on-site sales. Selling at the door can be a great way to get to take your attendance from a solid crowd to a packed house. And it’s not as old-fashioned as it sounds — and with Agile Ticketing Solutions, you can sell tickets quickly from any device.

4. Partner up

Look for partners who can help you uniquely position your event help you and create a better event experience for your attendees. If your event is far away? If so, you can look for hotels to partner with in the area by setting up a room block so your attendees get a discount. The hotel can market your event to help sell rooms in return. Or maybe your event is local, teaming up with other local businesses to create a partnership can help you expand your reach and twofold sell more tickets.

5. Use tracking links via our Facebook Integration

Did you know you can use tracking links with Agile’s Facebook Integration tool? Once you have your Facebook Pixel set up you will be able to see how your marketing efforts are performing. You can convert more site visitors into ticket buyers by setting up a tracking code.

Pro Tip: A manufactured scarcity marketing campaign is always going to help increase the urgency for ticket buyers to buy now. Limited-time discounts can create a sense of urgency and inspire people to purchase tickets right away. Or you can sell tickets in limited-number tiers at increasing prices, keeping your sales strong leading up to the event. Whenever possible, play up the exclusivity of your event, let buyers know that remaining tickets are limited, and urge them to take action before it’s too late.
